CrossTrainers (Grades 5-6)

CrossTrainers is a program designed especially for 5th and 6th graders to make the transition from children's ministry to student ministry comfortable. The Childrens Ministry and Student Ministry teams work together to allow children becoming middle schoolers to ease into the next phase of their life together while gradually giving them the freedoms and responsibilities of becoming "youth".
CrossTrainers is also Hixson UMC’s Confirmation ministry. Confirmation is one of the first significant moments in which we affirm the faith into which we were baptized. In confirmation we affirm the Scriptures, the teachings, and the heritage of the church as Christians and as United Methodists. Confirmation is not a graduation exercise in which a person goes to class, learns church doctrine, and graduates into full membership of the church. Rather, confirmation brings into focus the life of discipleship. Cross-Trainers meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45am in room G-12 and is for students in the fifth and sixth grade.
