Senior Adult Ministry
Senior adults are an active and vital part of our ministry at Hixson Church. In addition to participating in the overall life of the congregation, our senior adults also gather regularly for their own times of fellowship and Christian study. If are interested in joining a group or would like more information, please contact Jim Lewis at the church office or by email.
Current Senior Adult Ministry Opportunities:
Golden Agers: First Monday of each month, 12:00-2:00pm (Fellowship Hall)
Part of our senior adult ministry, the Golden Agers meet on the first Monday of each month for great food, fellowship and a special program that meets the needs and interests of seniors.
XYZ's (eXtra Years of Zest): Third Thursday of each month 7:00-8:30pm (Friendship House)
Older adults are an active and vital part of Hixson Church. Members of the XYZ's usually meet on the third Thursday of each month for a time of fellowship and a special program. In addition XYZ members donate time, energy, and funds toward projects in and around the church. This group also gathers for recreation and travel.
Greeting Card Ministry: Wednesdays from 10:30am-12:00pm (Scout Hut)
The Greeting Card Ministry gathers each Wednesday morning to make special, hand-made Christian greeting cards which are sold at church and in several local stores to help raise money for such projects as missions, the Worship Center, Community Baskets, and the Child Development Center scholarships. This ministry works in partnership with the Upper Room Sunday School class.
