Widow's Harvest

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  (James 1:27 NIV)

 Our church Missions and Outreach Team has chosen Widow's Harvest as one of our mission focuses at Hixson UMC. Widows Harvest is a Christian based non-profit service organization located right here in Chattanooga, TN. Their mission is to plead the case of, provide assistance to, and promote the spiritual growth and ministry of widows. Please check out their web-site at www.widows.org.

One Saturday each month members of our congregation gather together to serve the needs of widows in our community. From mowing lawns and raking leaves to painting and home repair, our teams help meet important needs in the lives of our sisters in Christ who are now living alone.
