Focus on Health

In recent months, the Church Leadership Team has adopted new focus goals for the coming years. One of those goals is to “Improving all facets of our personal and church health that we may more fully share our resources and offer help, hope, and healing in our community and the world.” With that in mind, the Christian Formation Team is offering some faith-focused, healthy living classes (see below). You may also want to visit the Faith Community Nursing Health Page for more information about our Focus on Health.

First Place for HealthFirst Place 4 Health: Deciding to love God with emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual wholeness can be the beginning of your journey to successful weight loss! You will also learn to overcome fatigue, develop a greater intimacy with God, and enjoy a healthy, vibrant lifestyle. First Place 4 Health is being offered as one of this year’s Christian Formation classes, with the goal of experiencing genuine community as we learn together to balance these four core areas of life. The class, offered to both men and women, is offered in three 12-week segments. Groups will begin meeting the week of August 31, on Tuesdays at 6:30-7:45pm, or on Thursdays from 9:30-10:45am. Visit our First Place 4 Health page for more information.

Good GriefGood Grief: Each of us experience loss. Whether mourning the death of a loved one, the end of a marriage, the loss of a job, or other difficult life changes, we all must work through the grief that is a natural reaction to loss and change. This class offers valuable insights on the various responses experienced during grief while providing an atmosphere of healing through mutual support and understanding. This group meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, beginning September 1. Facilitated by Dr. John Oldham.
