FAITH COMMUNITY NURSING HEALTH MINISTRY

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  Mark 12:30

Stewardship of the gift of life is a privilege and responsibility of every follower of Christ.  The purpose of Faith Community Nursing at HUMC is to provide resources that will help the congregation to effectively offer health, hope, and healing to each other and to the community.   A lifestyle of robust health by balanced and careful attention to the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical dimensions of each person is taught and encouraged through the Faith Community Health Ministry.

HUMC Faith Community Nurses receive their local training through Chattanooga’s Memorial Hospital.  They then participate in further training and encouragement through the local FCN network, and through the international network of United Methodist Parish Nurses.  Deby Hazelwood, RN, is HUMC’s currently active Faith Community Nurse.  She can be reached at 423-842-3809 or at mickdeby@bellsouth.net
